One of the challenges of exploring animal totems or animal signs, is to decide when the animal you see, is not bringing you a special message. Sometimes the animal is just there going about its daily business of locating food or protecting itself, or something.
You have to take into consideration, you have to ask yourself, is it normal for the animal to be here (or if you are seeing tracks or a feather, is it normal for that animal to have passed by that place.) In the case of the duck and the ibis, those birds are very common here in Southwest Florida. What was uncommon to me was seeing one of each together.
